READINESS OF TEACHERS FOR ORGANIZATION OF FORMATION READING LITERACY
Abstracts

Introduction. The article considers the problem of the teacher’s readiness to form reading literacy among schoolchildren who are tested in all subjects within the framework of GIA, VPR, international studies (PIRLS, PISA, PIAAC).

Materials and methods. The professional standard of the teacher, the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education is analyzed and the requirements for the activity of a physics teacher who organize the process of formation of reader literacy in a student are highlighted.

Results. The article analyzes the significance and willingness of future teachers to organize the educational process for the formation of reader literacy in teaching physics.

Discussion. On the basis of the identified requirements for the activity of a physics teacher who organizes the process of forming reader literacy in lessons, we have developed and tested tasks on the methodology for studying the topic «Thermal phenomena» on the basis of the SUSHPU Physics and Mathematics Faculty.

Conclusion. In conclusion, the obtained results of experimental work on the basis of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the SUSHPU are described with the introduction of practice-oriented tasks within the discipline “Methods of Teaching Physics” and a general conclusion is made about the possibility of forming reader literacy in teaching physics.

Highlights

In the context of the implementation of the teacher’s professional standard, the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the area of training «Pedagogical Education», the knowledge and skills that teachers should possess to form reader literacy in teaching physics are highlighted.

Professional training of the student is effectively based on the implementation of the main activities (reproductive, productive, creative) and the use of active teaching methods in solving practice-oriented problems.
