Introduction. In article the main directions, tasks and the principles of pedagogical maintenance of formation of a patriotic position of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation are considered. The essence of concepts reveals: patriotism, patriotic position, pedagogical maintenance. Article purpose — to characterize theoretical and practical aspects of pedagogical maintenance of formation of a patriotic position of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to open the main approaches to planning of pedagogical work, to consider the basic principles of patriotic education, to open the purposes and problems of patriotic education and to consider methods of their decision. Much attention is paid to the analysis of the best practices on formationof a patriotic position of cadets of the Ural legal institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Materials and methods. As the main methods of a research the analysis of literature on a research subject, the analysis of the best practices, and the diagnostic techniques including observation, testing, methods of statistical data processing were applied as general scientific methods, in particular.
Results. Definition of key tasks of formation of a patriotic position of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is result of work, the principles, methods and means are characterized. Criteria of formation
of a patriotic position are defined. The comparative analysis of levels of formation of a patriotic position of cadets of the Ural legal institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the stating and control investigation phases is given.
Discussion. In article it is emphasized that the program of pedagogical maintenance including application of rituals and historical attributes is an effective remedy of formation of a patriotic position of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Conclusion. The conclusion that the organization of pedagogical maintenance of formation of a patriotic position of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the basis of occupations of patriotic orientation in the museums, holding office rituals in historical places, meetings and conversations with veterans, familiarizing of cadets with orthodox traditions enhances efficiency of formation of a patriotic position is drawn.
