RESEARCH OF ATTITUDES TO CHILDREN AND PARENTING IN STUDENTS
Abstracts

Introduction. The demographic problem is one of the most acute problems of modern Russia. According to the Federal State Statistics Service from 2019 to 2036, Russia's population is projected to decrease from 146,773 to 137,108 people. From January to July 2018, the natural population decline was 91900 people.

Materials and methods. The study involved 93 students Juurgu and CSU. The age of the respondents ranges from 18 to 23 years. To collect empirical data, a questionnaire consisting of five blocks focused on the study of students ' attitudes to family and parenthood was used.

Results. In the course of a sociological study, value orientations and life goals were studied and compared; family view; idea of a future own family; factors influencing the formation of ideas about the future of their own family; attitude to the birth and upbringing of children of students of humanitarian, pedagogical and classical universities.

Discussion. The results showed a difference in the definition of the life goals of students of pedagogical and classical universities. It should be noted the serious discrepancy between the values and meaningful life goals given by the students in the answers. Most likely, this is explained by the fact that they view values from the perspective of the present, and their goals from the perspective of the future.

Conclusion. Family and parenthood are not currently defined by students as the most significant values. However, most students plan to start a family in the future. The optimal number of children in the family, the majority of students believe two (65,5 %) and only 14,1 % expect to have three or more children. A significant factor determining the setting for the future family and parenthood of students is the parent family. Most respondents believe that the upbringing of a child is the responsibility of both parents.
