IDEAS ABOUT MARRIAGE DEPENDING ON THE VALUABLE ORIENTATIONS OF YOUNG MEN
Abstracts

Introduction. The article substantiates the relevance of the research of marriage and family concepts among modern youth. The purpose of the research is to identify the features of ideas about marriage depending on the structure of valuable orientations of young men at different stages of age development.

Materials and methods. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific literature, psycho-diagnostic methods, methods of statistical data processing.

Results. This section includes a description and comparison of the content of ideas about marriage among young men depending on the structure of valuable orientations at different stages of age development. The structure of valuable orientations differentiates ideas about marriage to a greater extent (Ideal husband, I am a future husband) among young men in adolescence than in early adulthood. Valuable orientations have a greater influence on the features of the image “Ideal wife” among young men in early adulthood compared to the adolescence of ontogenesis.

Discussion. Ideas about social role of the spouse are considered as reference points based on which young men will build their own marital behavior in the future. In early adulthood young men with a focus on the values of professional self-realization prefer a democratic (partner) model of the family which is characterized by equality of spouses and joint leadership. Young men with a focus on gnostic and aesthetic values choose a traditional family model where the woman is limited by the social roles of wife and mother.

Conclusion. There are both general qualities and specific features among young people's ideas about marriage due to the influence of the structure of valuable orientations and age.
