Peculiarities of teaching russian as a foreign language in russian provincial high schools
Abstracts

Abstract. Introduction. This article describes problems and peculiarities of teaching Russian as a foreign language in provincial universities of the Russian Federation, as exemplified by FGBOU VO “Shadrinsky State Pedagogical University”.

Materials and Methods. The study includes methods of analysis, observation, comparative-comparative, method of mathematical analysis.

Results. The study analyzes the population of foreign students at Shadrinsky State Pedagogical University; systemizes price policy of RAFL teaching at Russian universities in large and small cities. The authors also analyze the content of programs for studying and teaching Russian as a foreign language in provincial universities, and feature the implementation of the programs in the context of regional topics. The attention is focused on the principles of teaching RAFL at Shadrinsky State Pedagogical University.

Discussion. Structured and well-organized linguistic work should be aimed both at developing civil and national identification and fostering tolerance and respect towards Russian language and culture.

Conclusion. In the process of acculturation of foreign students, provincial universities may be characterized by active use of cultural context as a resource for effective assimilation of the Russian language.
