Studying features of emotional intelligence of people in situations of control
Abstracts

Introduction. The research problem is the complexity and multicomponent emotional states of a person in control situations, which must be identified from a standpoint of the influence of emotional intelligence on them. Therefore, the study of the characteristics of emotional intelligence is a necessary condition for the most productive activity of people in control situations. The purpose of the study was to reveal the features of emotional intelligence of an individual on the cumulative sample of people of different professional and social orientation and to show its influence on the nature of mental states in control situations.

Materials and methods. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific literature on the problems of studying emotional intelligence an individual and individual’s well-being in control situations; as well as a diagnostic technique. The research was conducted with the use of questionnaire “Emotional Intelligence” designed by N. Hall, and the Wilcoxon test as mathematical-statistical treatment for empirical results.

Results. Emotional intelligence as a complex integrative education includes the totality of cognitive, behavioral and emotional qualities that provide awareness, understanding and regulation of one’s own emotions, and emotions affect the success of interpersonal interactions and personal development. Mathematic and statistical processing of empirical data obtained revealed the nature of influence of emotional intelligence on the nature of mental states of the individual in control situations.

Discussion. The analysis of available national and foreign sources also confirms the affect of emotional intelligence on an individual’s well-being in control situations. The relevance of this work is that the investigated features of emotional intelligence are revealed on the cumulative sample of people of different professional and social orientation.

The conclusion. The conclusion has been made about the influence of emotional intelligence on the nature of the mental states of people who find themselves in control situations.
