Supporting subject manifestations of personality in the system of child-parent relations as a condition for the development of psychological health of young scoolchildren
Abstracts

Introduction. The article substantiates the relevance of supporting subject manifestations of personality in the system of child-parent relations affecting the development of psychological health of young schoolchildren. Psychological health and the development of young schoolchildren depend on the parents’ support and acceptance of their child’s identity, his or her subjectivity, therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of supporting the subject activity of young schoolchildren as the basis for his or her psychological health.

Materials and Methods. The research methods involved analyzing scientific publications on to the problem of young schoolchildren’s psychological health state, child-parent relations, as well as psycho-diagnostic techniques: Cattell’s 16 Personality Factors Test, method of studying school motivation (N.G. Luskanova), “Who am I?” questionnaire (A.M. Prikhozhan), School Anxiety Questionnaire (B.N. Phillips), Parental Attitudes Questionnaire (A.Ya. Varga, V.V. Stolin).

Results. Based on the integrative factors combining the state of psychological health of young schoolchildren such as ‘self-acceptance in situations of social interaction’ and ‘self-confidence in stressful situations’ we defined the affect of supporting subject manifestations of younger schoolchildren personality on the state of their psychological health.

Discussion. The study showed that the development of the child’s subjectivity actualizes personal potential, self-esteem, self-image, and self-acceptance, as well as promotes self-awareness, helps develop psychological health.

Conclusion. It is concluded that psychological health and development of children as a subject of activity will depend on the direction of the development environment for its adoption and support, which shall be provided by parents.
