Introduction. The article deals with the actual problem of psychological adaptation as the basis of the subjective component of health. The structure of psychological adaptation is described and psychological and pedagogical conditions contributing to the increase of adaptation level are revealed. The influence of the subjective factor “self-concept” on the process of psychological adaptation is shown. Experimentally grounded advisory activity in the subjective component of health as a targeted impact on the adaptation of students through the achievement of their inner integrity.
The aim of the article is to reveal and substantiate the peculiarities of psychological adaptation of students of pedagogical higher education as the basis of their health.
Materials and methods. In the course of the research we used the logical-theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical and ecological and valeological literature on the problems of psychological adaptation and health; diagnostic methods, including observation, interview, projective techniques, questionnaires, testing. Mathematical methods of statistical processing made it possible to generalize the results of the study.
Results. The structure of psychological adaptation of students of pedagogical university is described. The subjective factors influencing the adaptation are revealed. The results proving that consultative activities on subjective component of health increase the level of students' psychological adaptation are presented.
Discussion. It is established that unformed identity reduces the level of subjectivity of students and leads to various problems of psychological adaptation. Prevention and psycho-correction of students' adaptation disorder is considered as a solution of internal contradictions of “self-concept”. This problem is solved within the framework of counselling on the subjective component of health.
