THE GENESIS OF THE PHENOMENON OF THE MODEL OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT IN A PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY
Abstracts

Introduction. A foreign language educational environment is a linguo-didactic phenomenon, which in specific socio-cultural conditions is built according to a certain model, requires clarification of goals and content, as well as organizational changes, which is due to the requirements of the moment for the preparation of a foreign language teacher, taking into account his role in teaching, educating and developing students. For a complete understanding of the traditional and innovative components in foreign language teacher education, it is necessary to trace the process of evolution of models of a foreign language educational environment in order to be able to predict the main trends in its development based on previous experience. The purpose of the article is to study the genesis of the phenomenon of the model of a foreign language educational environment and to determine the model that is currently relevant.

Materials and methods. The leading research methods used in this article are the method of pedagogical modeling, as well as the analysis of theoretical sources on topical issues of modern didactics and linguodidactics. In addition, analysis, reflection and generalization of the authors' own pedagogical experience, based on many years of work as teachers of a foreign language at a higher pedagogical school, find application.

Results. The result of the study is an evolutionary representation of the process of modeling foreign language educational environments against the background of the development of the theory and practice of foreign language education, linguodidactics and methods of teaching foreign languages. On the basis of a number of important environmental parameters (goal, leading approach to learning, teaching principles, leading method, etc.), linguistic, communicative-activity, competence-based and integral models of a foreign language educational environment are identified.

Discussion. The use of the method of pedagogical modeling within the framework of the environmental approach provides a representation of foreign language education in a dynamic aspect and allows us to regard the integral model of a foreign language educational environment, which is currently gaining strength, as a natural result of the previous stages in the development of the theory and practice of organizing a foreign language educational process. It is within the framework of this model that a qualitative transformation of the student into an active and creative participant in the communicative and professional educational process takes place.

Conclusion. The genesis of the model of a foreign language educational environment is of great importance for the theory and practice of teaching foreign languages. In theoretical terms, this article helps to trace the evolution of the environmental organization of the educational process, to identify the genetic links between the components of educational environments and the nature of the development of foreign language education in general. In practical terms, this research equips all participants in the educational process with tools for designing and constructing one or another type of a foreign language educational environment that is required in a particular educational situation.
