Introduction. In this article, some aspects of the development of the modern information society are considered; the main problems of modern pedagogical science on the issue of information security of the student's personality are identified. The purpose of the article is to identify the components of information security for the formation of information security skills among students.

Materials and methods. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific literature devoted to the problem of the formation of information security skills, as well as diagnostic techniques, including observation, description, conversation. Based on observation and conversations with students, the format of pedagogical support of students in the formation of information security skills was chosen.

Results. The review of the main ideas of leading teachers on the problem of formation of information security skills is presented. The components of information security that need to be formed in students are highlighted.

Discussion. The model of pedagogical support of information security of students is presented. Based on the developed model, the concept of a program for the formation of information security skills among students is proposed.

Conclusion.The conclusion is made about the need for pedagogical support of students in order to form information security skills. One of the methods of pedagogical support can be the method of “Educational events”.
