Introduction The process of application of measures of state protection in relation to certain persons is multifaceted, including various aspects. One of these aspects is the socio-psychological security of persons in respect of whom state protection measures are being implemented[1].. How effective this process will be depends on a number of factors, such as: knowledge and consideration of the individual psychological characteristics of protected persons, the ability to interact with these persons, depending on these characteristics. For this purpose, the authors studied the psychological aspects of a number of individuals of this category.
Materials and methods. In order to analyze personal qualities, a diagnostic technique of the sixteen-factor personality questionnaire of Cattell was used, and also in order to study the current level of aggression, the diagnostic technique of Bass-Darky was used. The studies were carried out in several groups with different statuses of protected persons.
Results. Based on the results of the study, the theoretical foundations for studying the adaptation processes of persons in respect of whom state protection measures are implemented are determined. The necessity of taking into account the individual typological characteristics of persons of this category is substantiated. Criteria for assessing the personality and psychological characteristics of individuals are proposed. At the same time, the possibility of classifying protected persons according to the status of their being under state protection is declared. An attempt has been made to show the relationship between the personal-individual, psychological characteristics of individuals and their status as a participant in criminal proceedings.
Discussion. In the course of the analysis of the obtained results, it was concluded that each group of the examined persons has a number of typological, personal characteristics, depending on their status in the context of state protection. At the same time, based on the results of an experimental study, data were obtained indicating the possibility of grouping individual psychological qualities according to the same criteria that the experimental sample was grouped by. Adaptation processes are directly dependent on individual characteristics and affect the process of implementing state protection measures.
Conclusion. The results obtained allow us to conclude that there is a need for a deeper and more comprehensive study of the psychological properties and qualities of protected persons. This study will contribute to the compilation of psychological portraits of persons in respect of whom state protection measures are being implemented. The presence of the developed portraits in the future will improve the psychological work with individuals, guarantee the effectiveness of the socio-psychological security of this category of individuals.
