Introduction. The current state of health, especially of the younger generation, actualizes the problem of creating a culture of health. The need for special training of teacher-tutors is noted, who not only provide support for the development of students, but also carry out the process of teaching health, instilling a responsible attitude towards a healthy lifestyle as the main factor in preserving, strengthening and developing health. The purpose of the article is to develop and theoretically substantiate the technology of training teacher-tutors for the formation of a culture of health. The authors reveal the concepts of «health culture of a teacher-tutor», «health-forming technology».
Materials and methods. To achieve the stated goal of the study, theoretical methods were used: analysis of regulatory documents, practical experience in training tutors in higher education, theoretical and methodological analysis, conceptual and terminological analysis; empirical methods: questioning, testing, observation, conversation, analysis of the products of intellectual activity of students and teachers, comparison, generalization. The authors also analyzed their own experience in preparing students for health-improving activities. The research material was practically tested with students of the master’s program «Health Tutor».
Results. In the process of the research, the theoretical foundations and technology for preparing a teacher-tutor for the formation of a culture of health were developed. The fundamental concepts of “health”, “culture of health”, “teacher-tutor” are analyzed. Experience in implementing the master's program “Health Tutor” made it possible to substantiate the feasibility of using health-forming technology in preparing teacher-tutors for the formation of a culture of health. The results of testing health-forming technology in practice are presented.
Discussion. An analysis of the results of research in the field of health of the younger generation, healthy lifestyle, and health conservation in educational organizations showed how relevant and modern the training of specialists is for the formation of a culture of health among students. It is proposed to use the health-forming potential of educational disciplines of the ecological and valeological profile to form teacher-tutors’ own strategy on issues of health and a healthy lifestyle, which is the basis for the formation of a culture of health in the younger generation, a value attitude towards life, health, well-being of the environment.
Conclusion. Preparing teacher-tutors to form a culture of health among the younger generation is an important and necessary component of higher professional pedagogical education. The use of health-forming technology based on the principles of continuity, progression, integration, continuity, congruence contributes to the formation of competencies in future teacher-tutors that determine the formation of a culture of health in them and the readiness to cultivate it in students.
