COMPLICATION OF THE GENRE-SYNTACTIC SYSTEM OF CHILDREN'S SPEECH
Abstracts

Introduction. The article substantiates the relevance of observations of the stage of speech development, which is characterized by linking the genre-discursive differentiation of a child’s speech with the acquisition of the syntactic system of the native language, provides an overview of the main ideas of modern researchers on the problem of forming a genre system of a child’s speech and the role of the discursive factor in the development of children’s speech. The purpose of the article is to rely on a discursive approach to trace the further complication of the genre-syntactic system of a child’s speech. The subject of the study is the complexity of the genre system of a child’s speech in different types of discourse and the syntactic means of expressing speech genres.

Materials and methods. The material for the study was the results of monitoring the development of a child’s speech in the period from two years and six months to three years and one month. The main research methods are observation, analysis and classification.

Results. It has been established that this period of speech development is characterized by the complication and enrichment of the discourse system. In different types of discourse, there is an expansion of the set of illocutions due to the appearance of commissives and declaratives, which leads to the emergence of a number of commissive and declarative genres in the child’s speech. There is an expansion of the set of speech genres with illocutions that appeared earlier, in particular the genre of approval among expressive genres. Some patterns of syntactic implementation of certain speech genres have been discovered.

Discussion. The conclusion is confirmed that the complication of the syntax of children's speech correlates with the complication of the genre-discourse system. A tendency towards blurring the boundaries between utilitarian-everyday and cognitive-game discourses has been revealed.

Conclusion. Analysis of speech production of a child at the beginning of the fourth year of life allows us to establish that by this time the child has mastered the full set of illocutions characteristic of language, which leads to a significant complication of the genre-discursive system. The complication of the genre-discursive system is accompanied by a stable formation of the system of superficial syntax of children's speech. It turns out to be possible to establish a partial correlation between the semantics of a speech genre and its syntactic implementation.

Highlights

The beginning of the fourth year of a child’s life is characterized by a complication of the discursive system as a whole, a complication of cognitive-game discourse, and its enrichment with new speech genres;

The complication of the syntax of children's speech correlates with the complication of the genre-discourse system;

A tendency towards blurring the boundaries between utilitarian-everyday and cognitive-game discourses has been identified.
