PREPARING FUTURE TEACHERS FOR INTERCULTURAL PROFESSIONAL INTERACTION USING CLIL TECHNOLOGY
Abstracts

Introduction.The article discusses the application of CLIL technology, highlights the importance of its application, the pros and cons of this technology, emphasizes the importance of using this technology in the process of preparing future teachers for intercultural professional interaction. The purpose of the article is to describe the pedagogical project carried out at the historical faculty taking into account the requirements of this technology.

Materials and methods. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific literature devoted to the study of CLIL technology in the works of domestic and foreign scientists, the method of the pedagogical project, as well as diagnostic techniques, including observation, questioning, testing, data processing methods.

Results. The results of the pedagogical project showed that in the process of learning using the CLIL technology, the level of the formation of foreign-language professional and communicative competence among the 1st year students of the Faculty of History increased in all three types of speech activity (speaking, listening and reading). Students noted great interest in both mastering terminology and working with texts, as this helped them to deepen their knowledge of history. Possessing terminology, they could read additional material on the topic in English. As a result, the motivation for learning English has increased. In carrying out this pedagogical project, we used the CLIL technology. In this case, the substantive and linguistic components were equally important and equal.

Discussion. It is emphasized that the formation of foreign professional and communicative competence of future teachers is the main goal of modern education, since this competence is an important component of the general competence of the teacher, which will prepare the teacher for intercultural professional interaction in the future.

Conclusion. It is concluded that the use of CLIL technology is the most important means of motivating students to study not only a foreign language, but also other subjects. Effective work of the teacher and students in the classroom with the use of this technology will help to form the necessary level of foreign-language professional and communicative competence among students, will promote the development of general scientific knowledge and skills, and prepare future teachers for intercultural professional interaction.
