Introduction. The study of the content and characteristics of gender-role stereotypes leads to the need to identify current trends in changing stereotypes. The purpose of the work is to conduct a theoretical and empirical study of the nature of the relationship between gender role stereotypes and psychological well-being on the example of university students.
Materials and methods. Theoretical methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization; empirical: testing, questioning; statistical: calculation of Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, U-Mann-Whitney test. Research methods: “Gender profile of sex-role female stereotypes” by O. L. Kustova; “Gender profile of sex-role male stereotypes” by O. L. Kus-tova; “Self-assessment of the tendency to gender stereotyping” O. N. Bogdanovich in the modification of N. P. Fetiskin; “Scale of psychological well-being” by K. Riff, adapted by T. D. Shevelenkova and P. P. Fesenko. Students (N = 60) of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Vyatka State University” took part in the study.
Results. The relationship between the general level of psychological well-being and the level of exposure to gender-role stereotypes has not been confirmed, which allows us to state that gender-role stereotypes and the general level of psychological well-being are independent phenomena. The level of exposure to sex-role stereotypes differs depending on the gender of students: boys demonstrate a higher level of gender stereotyping than girls.
Discussion. The results of diagnosing the level of susceptibility to sex-role stereotypes showed that boys demonstrate a higher level of gender stereotyping than girls. In girls, in turn, a direct correlation was found between self-acceptance and the level of gender stereotyping.
Conclusion. The study confirms the theoretical significance of the work, which consists in the analysis and systematization of research available in science on the problem of gender stereotypes and the psychological well-being of university students, which allows expanding and concretizing scientific ideas about the features and relationships of these phenomena among students. Practical significance: the results of the study were used in the process of training interaction to develop the components of psychological well-being, taking into account the severity of gender stereotypes.

The study of the relationship between psychological well-being and susceptibility to sex-role stereotypes should be carried out taking into account gender, social and constructivist theories of gender stereotyping and using the main paradigms for studying this phenomenon - hedonistic and eudemonistic;
Between the system of components of psychological well-being and susceptibility to gender-role stereotypes, there may be relationships that reveal differences in the level of gender stereotyping;
Transformation of gender-role stereotypes in today's student environment is inevitable, since gender-role stereotypes are both a cause and a consequence of gender differences and the position of men and women in society.
