FEATURES OF TRANSFERING NAMES IN THE ASPECT OF INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION
Abstracts

Introduction. The article proves the relevance of the transfer of proper names from

 

German into Russian in the aspect of intercultural interaction. Classifications of proper names and methods  of their  translation,  compiled  earlier  by leading linguists, are presented. The results of a study of the proper names in the German artistic text and their equivalents are translated into Russian. The purpose of the article is to reveal and substantiate the main ways of transferring the proper names for improving the learning process of their translation in the aspect of intercultural interaction.

Materials and methods. The material of the study is the German proper names in the tales of E.T.A. Hoffmann and their correspondence in the translation of A. Fedorov "Mademoiselle de Scuderi" - "Fräulein von Scuderi", "Arturov yard" - "Arturshof", "Counselor Crespel" - "Berater Kräspel". The main research methods are descriptive and comparative.

Results. The main ways of translating various groups of proper names in the artistic text are revealed, which can be recommendations in the process of teaching the translation of this group of vocabulary.

Discussion. It is emphasized that the transfer of proper names in the artistic text is a special section and requires a separate approach.

Conclusion. The conclusion is made that in the global world intercultural interaction presupposes first of all the knowledge of the features of the culture of another country, the linguistic reflection of which are proper names. Therefore, the transfer of proper names is an integral part of intercultural communication.
