Introduction. The problem of developing students' value orientations is certainly relevant at all times. Special attention to it at the present stage of the development of society can be explained by active innovative processes taking place both in the socio-political sphere and in the socio-economic sphere. In addition, interest in the problem is associated with the increase and intellectualization of the areas of professional activity, as well as the identification of negative trends in the formation and development of the spiritual culture of citizens of Russian society. At present, the devaluation of the values of generations of the Russian people continues, the moral foundations that have existed for a long time are being destroyed, the life orientations of the young generation are changing, in general, the traditional norms of morality and value attitudes in Russia are being deformed. All of the above dictates the need for the earliest possible development of modern approaches to the education of schoolchildren.

Materials and methods. The study is based on the theoretical provisions of pedagogy and psychology on the formation of value attitudes of schoolchildren. Important are the provisions on the role of learning the Russian language, native languages and literature in the formation of personal value attitudes. Some conceptual provisions related to the concepts of "values" and "orientation towards values" are considered. The purpose of the article is to substantiate and reveal the author's idea of the system and tools for the formation of moral values of schoolchildren, relying on such mechanisms as the needs of the individual, motivation. The study used a cultural-historical approach, methods of axiological and hermeneutic analysis.

Results. A pedagogical toolkit has been developed, empirically tested and implemented, which helps the teacher to solve the problem of forming students' moral values.

Discussion. The methodological support used contributes to the formation of the most important axiological concepts and value orientations in schoolchildren. At the same time, certain areas of pedagogical activity in the formation of value attitudes of schoolchildren require further development.
