Introduction. The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the reflection of intercultural experience in the development of intercultural competence of foreign language students. The designing and application of an algorithm for the reflection of intercultural experience in the framework of the university course of the basics of intercultural communication in order to improve the level of professional training of future teachers are substantiated.
Materials and methods. The main research methods are the analysis of theoretical sources, generalization of pedagogical experience, questionnaires, mathematical data processing.
Results. The concepts included in the conceptual and terminological field of the problem under study (intercultural reflection, reflection of intercultural experience, critical thinking) were clarified, the features of intercultural reflection were revealed, and an algorithm to develop students' reflection of intercultural experience was designed.
Discussion. The use of reflection of the intercultural experience of students according to the algorithm proposed by the authors is an essential factor in the development of intercultural competence of university students, as well as stimulating their critical thinking.
Conclusion. The authors recommend using the reflection of intercultural experience in teaching intercultural communication for students of foreign language faculties of universities. Personal reflected experience is actualized in educational and cognitive intercultural practice, contributing to the development of intercultural sensitivity, as well as the formation of the required intercultural skills and abilities.

The terminological apparatus of the problem under study has been clarified, reflecting the essence of reflection on the intercultural experience of future foreign language teachers.
An algorithm for reflecting the intercultural experience of future foreign language teachers has been developed.
The results of the questioning of students are interpreted and conclusions are drawn about the role of reflection of the intercultural experience of students in teaching intercultural communication and improving the quality of their professional training.
