WAYS OF FORMING THE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF CADETS OF A MILITARY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE PROCESS OF TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Abstracts

Introduction. The article deals with the actual problem of the formation of the communicative competence of cadets of a military university. The authors reveal the the concept “communicative competence”. The author's interpretation of this concept will allow expanding the criteria apparatus in the terminological field of pedagogy. The obtained data from the analysis of surveys and observations reveal the importance of the formation of communicative competence when studying a foreign language by cadets of a military university. The key approach in the article on the formation of the communicative competence of military university students is the competence approach.

Materials and methods. The article presents a comparative analysis of observations of the work of cadets during the performance of tasks of a communicative orientation in foreign language classes and an analysis of the survey of first-year cadets of a military university at the beginning and end of the academic year to identify their attitude to the study of a foreign language, identifying their ideas on the formation of communicative competence in foreign language classes. A generalization of modern pedagogical experience in the field of learning a foreign language is also presented.

Results. As a result of the theoretical analysis, the key concept of “communicative competence” was clarified. The authors revealed the importance of the formation of communicative competence in the study of a foreign language by cadets of a military university; the main tasks aimed at achieving a positive result in the formation of communicative competence by means of learning a foreign language are given.

Discussion. The formation of communicative competence is a rather complex process that includes the development of each of its components, taking into account the formation of a complex of knowledge and skills. The communication skills used by cadets are quite significant both for solving professional tasks related to the operation of equipment, devices and weapons, and in educational work in the implementation of managerial functions.

Conclusion. The communicative competence studied in our study, being one of the essential components of the general professional competence of a cadet's personality, ensuring the expansion of the professional sphere of activity of a specialist, acts as an integrative professional and personal resource that affects the implementation of inter-cultural communication in the service and professional space of a graduate of a military university.

Communicative competence is the ability of a person to engage in interactions according to a set goal, taking into account their own training, upbringing, communicative capabilities and personal qualities of the speaker;

Communicative competence, according to our observations and a survey of cadets, is one of the main personality qualities of a future serviceman, which contributes to the realization of her need for respect and a successful process of socialization;

Communicative competence is formed by means of speech interaction: cooperation, combination and execution of instructions.
