THE USE OF MATERIALS WITH COMPONENTS OF COUNTRY STUDIES ON LESSONS LEARNING RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN THE CHINESE AUDIENCE
Abstracts

Introduction. The article discusses the place of country studies in the system of learning Russian as a foreign language, analysis of textbooks on it, methods of forming cultural competence in the process of learning Russian as a foreign language using the example of studying the theme “Golden Ring of Russia”. It is proposed to use in the classroom gaming technology, role-playing situations, conducting virtual travel, thanks to which students learn about Russian culture, expand vocabulary and develop speech skills.

Materials and methods. The materials for the study were the works of linguists, scholars - methodologists, teachers devoted to the problem of forming cultural competence of foreign students in the Russian language, used diagnostic techniques, including observation, description, conversation, analysis of written and oral works of foreign students.

Results. The essence of the process of teaching country studies in the classroom in the Russian language as a foreign language, its content and forms of work were specified and disclosed; identified the need for interrelated training of learning Russian as a foreign language and country studies; A methodical system of lessons has been developed that includes a cross-cultural component.

Discussion. It emphasizes the importance of using country-specific materials in Russian as a foreign language classes, necessary for the development of coherent speech and the expansion of background knowledge of foreign students.

Conclusion. It is concluded that in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language it is important to form students not only linguistic knowledge and skills, but also cultural competence: knowledge about Russian cities, Russian art, traditional crafts, without


which mastering the Russian language is impossible.

Highlights

Regional geography plays an important role in the system of teaching Russian as a foreign language;

The cross-cultural information contained in textbooks for foreign students needs to be supplemented, since information on the regions of Russia, the ethnic composition and culture of the peoples living in the territory of the Russian Federation are not fully represented;

The system of exercises developed by us on the “Golden Ring of Russia” theme contributes to the formation of cultural competence.
