THE PROBLEMS OF PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF YOUTH IN MODERN CONDITIONS
Abstracts

Introduction. This article deals with the urgent problem of the patriotic education of youth. The authors of the article set a goal for themselves: to reveal the contradictions of the process of patriotic education of young people and outline ways to solve them, differentiate concepts such as patriotism, nationalism, chauvinism, nazism, and also substantiate the need to have an ideology and a national idea. The experience of work on patriotic education in the municipal educational institution “Secondary School No. 1” of the Kopeysk urban district of the Chelyabinsk region is summarized. Purpose of the article  — to consider the problems of patriotic education of youth in modern conditions, to reveal the contradictions of the process and outline ways to overcome them, to analyze the experimental work in the municipal educational institution "Secondary School No. 1" of the Kopeysk urban district of the Chelyabinsk region.

Materials and methods. In the process of research, both theoretical methods (study of literature on the problem of study, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction) and empirical methods (observation in natural conditions, interviews, questionnaires, writing mini-essays) were used.

Results. Experimental work has shown that work on the problem of patriotic education at school can be effective with an integrated approach to its solution and the inclusion in this process of all school employees, teachers of various subjects (especially history, social studies, literature, local history, geography), class teachers. The task of patriotic education should be realized both during the passage of the program material and in extracurricular out-of-class and out-of-school activities.

Discussion. The authors analyzed the alternative points of view of modern teachers on the problem of patriotic education of the younger generation. The conclusion is made about the relevance of the problem of patriotic education at the current stage of development of the state and society and the need to strengthen patriotic work in the conditions of the modern Russian school.

Conclusion. Experimental work carried out in the municipal educational institution “Secondary School No. 1” of Kopeysk urban district of the Chelyabinsk region showed that students in grades 9–11 (208 people) increased the level of patriotic consciousness, which manifested itself in the emergence of a sense of pride in their homeland, for the greatness of our victory in the Great Patriotic war, for the contribution to the victory of the workers of the Urals and the hometown of Kopeisk.

Highlights

The contradictions of the process of patriotic education of youth students were revealed, ways of their solution by methods of pedagogical influence were outlined;

The need for an integrated approach to solving the problem and the need for appropriate changes in the external environment are shown, which would exclude objective factors that hinder the growth of patriotic consciousness of youth.
