Upgrading the bank of evaluation means for teachers’ professional and creative training (course of study “рedagogics”)
Abstracts

Introduction. The article analyzes the opportunity of using the bank of evaluation means in pedagogical university network system as an independent instrument of assessing the quality of Bachelor’s Degree students’ training. It justifies the relevance of searching the correct means for competencies assessment. The article aims at presenting the results of the research on the levels of Bachelor’s Degree students’ competencies development and on assessing the mentioned levels in the context of the course of study “Pedagogics” in the specialty “Russian language and Literature Teachers”.

 Materials and methods. The main research methods involve analyzing of scientific literature on the following problems: students’ competence assessment; correcting and improving education process; searching the means of assessing students’ competency levels. Furthermore, various diagnostic methods were employed, including observation, testing, and methods of processing statistical data.

 Results. The authors analyzed and tested the bank of means for competence assessment (OK-1) in the framework of the course of study “Pedagogics” (the chapter “History of education and pedagogical ideas”). The paper introduces the typology of professional activities and specifies the labor functions during the process of studying the subject. Furthermore, levels of the target competence achieved by students are described in the paper.

 Discussion. The authors highlight the point that teachers should take into consideration not only the main aims of managing students’ activities but also the influence of the specific features of the chosen evaluation means on students’ competence level.

 Conclusion. It is concluded that the bank of evaluation means of a pedagogical university network can be used as an independent instrument for evaluating the quality of the Bachelor’s Degree training in a pedagogical university.
