Engineering graphics: new requirements to organization of training in military higher education institutions
Abstracts

Introduction. The article describes the role and values of engineering graphics in professional activity of a modern military engineer. The study is aimed at specifying requirements to role- and value-based teaching of engineering graphics to cadets in a military technical college for their professional activities as military engineers.

Materials and Methods. The main method applied in the research is the analysis of modern scientific literature and normative documents determining the content of professional activity of military engineers. Conclusions and generalizations of the research are made with the use of classification and systematization of results. The experimental data is received with the use of the forecasting method.

Results. The study has performed the assessment of the engineering graphics value at philosophical, fundamental and application-oriented levels of the matter. The author has defined the requirements to organization of educational process in military higher education institutions.

Discussion. The author proves the idea that the value of engineering graphics in educational process of a military higher education institution does not decrease. There is no need to replace it by computer graphics.

Conclusion. The requirements to educational process of a military higher education institution described by the author will allow developing didactic basis of its modernization in modern conditions.

Highlights
– The common cultural value of engineering graphics in professional activity of the military engineer requires teaching engineering graphics within the framework of life-long professional training, the contact with samples, norms and standards of a commercial crop of society and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is necessary.
– The fundamental role of engineering graphics requires: to amend the basis for training future military engineers, eliminate the lack of graphical literacy that can be found in graduates, and use educational potential of discipline.
– The application of engineering graphics in professional activity of a military engineer requires its integration with professional disciplines and computer simulation.
