Research work and translation as means of cognitive interest development in seniour schooldchildren
Abstracts

Introduction. The article deals with the problem of developing cognitive interest in the process of research work at secondary school. The main idea of the article is to determine the necessity of using the research work and translation as means of cognitive translation.

Materials and Methods. The author believes that a foreign language gives schoolchildren the opportunity to use the information of original sources according to their interests and inclinations and to find answers to the questions, which are not given in textbooks. The research work helps the development of selective / elective interests connected to their future professional interests. Together with the research work, students are usually occupied with research activities, which form scientific concepts, scientific style of thinking and creative activity.

Results. Special attention is paid to the formation of students’ abilities while doing the research work and translation. Research work helps to form reflexive, research, communicative activities. It also teaches students to compare, to analyze and make conclusions.

Discussion. The materials of the article may be used by school teachers, students, bachelors, and college teachers for preparing their scientific works.

Conclusion. The research work and translation by means of a foreign language influence the development of cognitive interest.
