Solving case studies as a means of forming future teachers’ professional competencies
Abstracts

Introduction. The paper substantiates the urgency of solving case studies as a way of modeling the future teachers’ professional activityThe purpose of the article is to reveal the author’s approach to future teachers’ training and to developing their professional competencies on the basis of solving case studies. The review of the modern researchers’ ideas about the essential characteristics of case studies and the process of their solution is also presented in the paper.

Materials and methods. The article summarizes the experience of designing the educational process content based on modeling the students’ professional activity in the future. In the course of the research the following methods were used: methods of analyzing scientific literature on the research problem, methods of pedagogical modeling, observation and diagnosis of the obtained results.

Results. The author presents the essential characteristics of case studies and identifies groups of case studies with the didactic potential. A model for future teachers’ training in solving professional case studies has been developed.

Discussion. The paper describes the organizational and methodical aspects of using situational tasks in future teachers’ professional training based on the conducted research. The functional possibilities of solving case studies are in the focus of the research.

Conclusion. The research concludes that the developed model of future teachers’ training for solving professional case studies facilitates developing new models of professional activities and creates conditions for effective pedagogical competence development.
