A SOURCE STUDY OF THE HISTORY OF PEDAGOGY AND EDUCATION
Abstracts

Introduction. Source studies are inherently interdisciplinary in nature, revealing the features of existence and meaning of sources as cultural phenomena. For the successful implementation of pedagogical research it is necessary to strive to use the largest possible array of information that reveals the specifics of the studied processes. The authors of the article, based on their own scientific and methodological experience, consider the classification of sources on the history of pedagogy and education.

Materials and methods. Using the potential of various branches of humanitarian knowledge – history, pedagogy, source studies, textology, hermeneutics, etc., it is possible to achieve greater completeness and depth of historical and pedagogical research in the field of

 

source studies. Historical-pedagogical and source-study approaches served as a methodological basis for research, which made it possible to classify sources according to the history of pedagogy and education.

Results. Among the sources of the history of pedagogy and education there are five typological groups: written, phonographic, visual, material and anthropological.

Discussion. Problems in the history of pedagogy and education are discussed in the works of contemporary Russian scientists (V. G. Bezrogov, A. V. Duhovnia, D. I. Latyshina, A. M. Lushnikov, L. D. Stolyarenko, A. M. Tsirulnikov, etc.). At the same time, scientists are called upon to search, study and interpret sources corresponding to the goals of their projects. However, there are still not enough special publications devoted to the issues of source studies of the history of pedagogy and education. Among the existing works include the studies by M. V. Boguslavsky, A. N. Dzhurinsky, G. B. Kornetov, etc.

Conclusion. Productive analysis of a wide range of sources of his-torical and pedagogical research contributes to the enrichment of the methodological arsenal of specialists, increases the effectiveness of their work.
