METHOD OF DEVELOPMENT AND APPROBATION OF COMPLEX CASE-STUDY WHILE TEACHING PHYSICS TO TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Abstracts

Introduction. The interrelation between physics and special disciplines realized by means of complex case-study technology of teaching physics in technical universities is presented in this work.  The formation of professional competence of future engineers, starting with the first year course of Science study, including physics, is considered. Thus, it is advisable to organize practice-oriented training of physics based on the situational approach. The purpose of the study is to provide scientific justification and description of possible ways to apply knowledge of special disciplines in the course of physics with the help of implementation of complex case-study technology. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the development of practice-oriented complex case-study technology of teaching physics at a technical university.

Materials and methods. To achieve the objective the following methods were used: analysis of scientific and methodological literature of the problem under study; analysis of legislative and regulatory documents in the field of higher technical education; as well as technological map of the process of teaching physics. The criteria for the formation of basic professional competencies, as well as testing of experimental data of complex case technology were worked out.

Results. The method of development and approbation of a complex case-study technology of teaching physics at a technical university is presented.

Discussion. Our technology combines the idea of unity of fundamental and applied physics in the teaching process, based on the needs of special disciplines. Research materials can be used in teaching Science to students of technical universities.

Conclusion. It is concluded that the implementation of a complex case-study technology of teaching physics will contribute to the formation and development of professional competencies of students in a technical university.

Keywords

physics, case-study technology, situational problem, professional competence, special disciplines, practice-oriented training

Highlights

- the connection of general course physics with special disciplines studied in technical universities has been determined;

- a technological map showing the activities of the teacher and students at each stage of the implementation of complex technology of teaching physics has been developed;

- the effectiveness of the developed methodology for the implementation of complex case-study technology in practical classes of physics with the criteria of formation of basic professional competencies has been presented.
